I mostly agree. I think the writers and actors all got a little tired after awhile, and it showed.
I also think the writers got a lot of pressure to “fix” Voyager when the ratings kept falling. We need more action! We need more sex! We need cooler fx! Story ended up being neglected.
I agree with this as well. I think Voyager’s quality curve was inverted from those of TNG and DS9 – those two series both had fairly weak seasons 1 and 2 (though both had episodes that were considered among their best in those first two seasons). VOY on the other hand had a very strong start and declined after that.
I think there are still some good episodes to be found in the later seasons, but there’s also a lot of fairly terrible writing and limited or regressive character development.
